MY RESEARCH

Subatomic Physics

I have been trained to perform world-class calculations in theoretical particle physics.  I perform calculations that allow reconciliations between major subatomic experiments and the Standard Model of particle physics.  I try to answer questions like: how are protons and neutrons formed, why do they have the properties that they have, where does the theory break down, etc.

NUCLEON SPIN SUM RULES

A detailed study of the angular momentum inside the nucleon is performed and the derivation a new twist-3 spin sum rule for a transversely-polarized nucleon is found.  This will allow one to potentially measure the spin of the proton and neutron with new experiments.

DVCS CROSS SECTION

I calculate the DVCS cross section which is a flagship process for the extraction of Generalized Parton Distributions (GPDs).  A formal twist expansion has been performed to subleading order, allowing for a very precise relationship between the cross sections and these well-sought nucleon structure quantities.

RADIATIVE CORRECTIONS IN SEMILEPTONIC PROCESSES

I calculate the 1 loop electroweak radiative corrections to both electron-proton scattering and neutron beta decay.  These corrections are important for the quantitative interpretation of measurements done on these semileptonic processes.
